Vultures prevalent
Corey Roelke, a UT Arlington associate professor of biology, said vultures are literally everywhere, The Dallas Morning News reported in a story about the birds. Roelke, who also is president of the Texas Hawking Association, said, “A lot of vultures’ diet is now roadkill. And as there’s more people, there’s more roadkill.”
Zoologist talks about snakes
After collecting snakes one night on a small Greek island, Greg Pandelis, curator of the Amphibian and Reptile Diversity Research Center at The University of Texas at Arlington, wondered how or why he became a zoologist, The Dallas Morning News reported in convering an event where four speakers talked about their journey in science.
San Jacinto Battle

Professor earns best paper
Wei Chen, professor of physics at The University of Texas at Arlington, is co-author of an article that has received a prestigious best paper award from Bioactive Materials, an international, peer-reviewed research publication, U.S. Fed News reported.
