Meet Your Advisor – Scott Elbert
The UTA College of Business will showcase each business advisor as they share fun personal facts about themselves. Scott is the Senior Director of Academic Advising and will celebrate five years at UTA in November.

What do you love most about being a college advisor?
Working with students is always very fulfilling but I also enjoy the intricacies of advising that come with working through policies and processes. It’s like working a puzzle every day.
What are your favorite hobbies outside of work?
Generally staying active. I like to play softball, go to the gym, work in the yard, work on updating my house, and playing with my crazy niece when I get the chance.
What was your favorite vacation?
My honeymoon in St. Lucia this past May. Spending a week snorkeling, horseback riding, sailing, and just lounging on the beach with my amazing wife was the best!

What is something people are shocked to learn about you?
That I am a big NASCAR fan. People always seem surprised by that, but I’ve been watching it since I was around 10 years old.
What is your favorite food to eat?
This is tough but I could just about eat my weight in fried rice so that’s going to have to be the winner.
What is something you want to do in the next year that you’ve never done before?
Learn how to be a dad! I have a son due in late November!
