Toni Colbert (Theatre Studies & English '26) has been selected to participate in the playwriting program at the 2026 American College Theatre Festival in Abilene, TX this coming March. Toni wrote the winning play, The Job, as an assignment for her Fall '24 Playwriting class. Toni is a dedicated writer who has already won playwriting awards. The Job concerns two workers with dull jobs at a nameless company who experience an unlikely moment of solidarity. "It's a commentary on the mentality of working". Toni adds: "Sometimes working comes at a cost, but my characters never lose sight of what they're working for." The Job will be produced at the festival.
