UTA School of Social Work to Host Alumni Lunch Focused on Building Impact Through Engagement

The UTA School of Social Work is hosting a time-honored alumni focused gathering titled Alumni Lunch: Building Impact Through Engagement on Friday, March 20 from noon–2:30 p.m. in the School of Social Work and Smart Hospital Building Commons Area. The event invites alumni, faculty, staff and community partners to reconnect, reflect on their progression and learn from one another.

 

This special gathering will be emceed by alum, Michael Guinn (’01 MSW). Guinn has developed a diverse career wide-ranging career as a published poet, award-winning actor, international spoken word champion, motivational speaker, and housing coach at the Transition Resource Action Center. Along with Guinn, the lunch will feature distinguished alumni speakers who will share insights from their professional journeys and reflect on the impact of social work across diverse practice settings.

The event reflects the belief that impact is built through relationships. By reconnecting alumni, faculty and staff, the School of Social Work continues to foster a strong, connected network that supports its mission and amplifies the collective work of social workers across the region.

 

The gathering will also highlight the current state of the school, including key updates and strategic priorities for shaping its future. Attendees will have the opportunity to reconnect with the school, exchange ideas and learn how they can contribute to the continued momentum. Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be available for attendees.
