The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization encouraging informed and active participation in government. It influences public policy through education and advocacy. We never support or oppose any political party or candidate.

General Service Needs

  1. Develop a stronger media presence for LWVTC for college students (we have Facebook only) to engage a new generation of activists who believe in the League's mission of voter empowerment. Goal: Instagram and Twitter presence
  2. Marketing: educate young women about the league
    -then and now issues in women's history, develop a series of weekly tweets and Instagram posts designed to update League "brand" of nonpartisanship AND strong activism
    -create lively presentations, one for younger groups (Girl Scouts, Brownies) and one for high school, college students demonstrating women's emergence into the public sphere
  3. Open to other ideas!

The mission of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. LLS exists to find cures and ensure access to treatments for blood cancer patients. We are the voice for all blood cancer patients and we work to ensure access to treatments for all blood cancer patients.

Since 1935, Lighthouse for the Blind of Fort Worth has been the beacon of hope for children, youth and adults who are blind or have significant low vision. Our mission is to empower individuals who are blind through superior training, meaningful employment, one-on-one specialized training and client services so they can lead full lives with the highest level of independence and quality of life.

General Service Needs
Home Visitor – Assist Lighthouse clients with grocery shopping, mail reading, letter writing, and running errands. Commitment: 2 – 4 times a month

Telephone Reassurance – Call homebound Lighthouse clients to provide friendship. Commitment: 2 – 4 times a month

Lighthouse CCTV Loaner Program – Assist in the delivery of donated CCTVs to Lighthouse clients. Commitment: 2 – 6 times a month or as needed by Client Services

Transportation Driver – Provide transportation to Lighthouse clients and/or staff for Lighthouse activities and appointments, running errands and medical appointments. Commitment: 2 – 4 times a month and as needed

Special Events – Assist with Lighthouse events ranging from monthly classes to holiday parties. Commitment: Varies depending on event needs
