VPRI Launches Strategic Plan

Earlier this year, the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation launched its Research Enterprise Strategic Plan, building on President Jennifer Cowley’s UTA 2030: Shared Dreams, Bright Future University-wide initiative.
“President Cowley challenged us to define our uniqueness and aspire to greater marks. I am excited to build upon our legacy and harness the creativity of student and faculty researchers to transform the future,” says Kate Miller, vice president for research and innovation.
Guided by its core research concentrations—health and the human condition, sustainable communities, cultural and societal transformations, data-driven discovery, and global environmental impact—the plan outlines a strategy for the University to pursue the following goals:
- drive innovation and growth by expanding support for partnerships, operations, and infrastructure across campus
- strengthen its research portfolio, capacity, and impact to drive transformative innovation and scholarship
- increase research training and learning opportunities for students
- forge strategic partnerships with industry to advance sustainable economic growth and prosperity
