Transition Tips for Maverick Families

  • Be Engaged in the Maverick Family Community: attend Family Weekend, Mav Essentials Live, and other family-friendly events. Take advantage of these times to meet other families who are on a similar journey.
  • Stay Connected to your Maverick: Plan how and how often you and your student will check in with each other. It's important to check in to say hello and "I am here if you need me."
  • Ask Questions: Maverick Parent & Family Services is here to support you and your student's journey at UTA. When in doubt, call on us to help connect you to resources, coach you through critical conversations, and hear that you are doing a fantastic job supporting your Maverick!
