Join EXCEL for its film series, a free night at the movies right here on campus! Showing new movies before they are available for in-home viewing, the film series is a great way to hang out with friends and enjoy that movie you’ve been wanting to see. EXCEL even provides free popcorn and other concessions!
Celebrate Halloween with fellow mavericks by enjoying an evening of free casino games, costume shows, live music and delicious treats. Halloween Casino Night provides a fun and safe Halloween environment for students and also focuses on campus resources about alcohol and drug awareness and wellness promotion. The evening culminates with a special prize drawing for those who have participated in the games and Halloween costume contest.
Join the excitement as teams of students compete in the Annual Bed Races competitions! Teams race beds on wheels while decked out in themed costumes at the university's "longest running" tradition. Bed Races began in 1980 to celebrate the opening of Maverick Stadium and continues each year as part of Spirit Week!

Providing a variety of speakers to the UT Arlington community TEDxUTA offers a speaker showcase focused on TED’s mission of “ideas worth spreading”. TEDxUTA is designed to give communities, organizations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level. This captivating event allows leaders, solution seekers and the merely curious to join together for a TED-like experience, stretch the boundaries of their mind, and challenge them to have new insights into old and new topics.
