On New Maverick Orientation dates, advisors are dedicated to students attending orientation, so same-day advising is unavailable. You can still get help by scheduling an appointment in advance or emailing your advisor. Check the Freshman Orientation Dates page before you come.
Students advised in the Division of Student Success, including freshmen, students who graduated high school in the last year, UT CAP, and transfer students with fewer than 24 credit hours, must complete the Self-Guided Academic Advising Short Course in Canvasto have their advising hold removed, receive a degree plan, and register for classes.

Students advised in the Division of Student Success (freshmen, students that graduated high school in the last year, UT CAP, & transfer students with less than 24 credit hours) need to complete a Self-Guided Academic Advising Short Course before registering for classes.
