Civil Engineering Advisory Committee (CEAC)

The Civil Engineering Department aims to graduate engineers with training and education that is relevant in today’s work environment and to enhance and expand its research programs to meet the needs of the civil engineering community of practice across the region.

The Civil Engineering Advisory Committee (CEAC) is comprised of engineering representatives from industry, governmental agencies universities, and private consulting firms; the CEAC was established to support the university in accomplishing its goals and objectives. The committee therefore supports the Civil Engineering Department in the areas of curriculum, maintaining ABET accreditation, preparing new graduates to enter industry, and guiding research. Although not the primary focus, the committee may also engage in promotion and fundraising activities for the university, focusing on the Civil Engineering Department.

The CEAC is a forum for members to:

  • Help the Civil Engineering Department expand programs.
  • Provide recognition to students, faculty, and alumni.
  • Increase community engagement.
  • Support strategic planning for the Civil Engineering Department.
  • Identify funding opportunities.
