UTeach Internships (Fall & Spring)

UTeach Arlington offers paid internships in local educational settings to a limited number of students each fall and spring semester. Students work an average of 10-15 hours a week, a maximum of 150 hours per semester, at $10/hour. All UTeach students with a GPA of 2.5 or higher are eligible to apply for an internship. Internship opportunities are announced as they become available.

 

NSF Noyce Internships (Summer)

The National Science Foundation’s Robert Noyce Summer Internship Program is a 5- to 10-week program in which students work 200 hours in local educational settings to explore math and science education as a potential career path. The internship pays $2,250 and is open to all freshmen and sophomores interested in math and science education. For more information, please visit the Robert Noyce webpage.

 

 

Scholarships

 

UTeach Program

UTeach program scholarships are funded by our partners and donors to support outstanding students and to further the training of quality STEM educators. Scholarships are open to all students in the program who have completed Step 1, though some scholarships may have additional eligibility requirements. Individual award amounts vary, ranging from $1,000 to $5,500. For current opportunities, search with keyword “UTeach” in Mav ScholarShop, UTA’s central scholarship system.

 

Noyce Scholarship Program

Students who are within two years of graduation may apply for the National Science Foundation Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program. Noyce scholars receive a one-year $10,000 scholarship, renewable for a second year. Recipients must commit to teach in a high-need school district two years for each year of scholarship support. Scholars attend bi-monthly Learning Academy Seminars addressing topics pertinent to STEM education. Applications are typically accepted in late spring. TEACH Grants

The federal Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant awards up to $3,752 per year. Recipients must commit to teach in a low-income school for four years. To be eligible, UTeach students must have completed Step 1 & 2 and have enrolled in (or completed) Classroom Interactions (EDUC 4332). A cumulative GPA of 3.25 is required.
