The CRTLE AI Course Redesign Institute provides learning for everyone and brings UTA faculty together for a highly practical, hands-on experience focused on AI literacy, career readiness, and course level application. This institute is designed for instructors who want time to explore, try, redesign, and leave with something tangible and not just a “sit and get” experience. Rather than focusing on “what AI might do someday,” this institute centers on what faculty are doing now, what employers are asking for, what AI Literacy skills are needed, and how we can intentionally align AI literacy learning outcomes (SLOs) with disciplinary teaching and student success.

FOCUS: Helping students understand, use, question, and communicate about AI across disciplines. This CRTLE event treats AI literacy as essential preparation for academic, professional, and civic life. Faculty will discuss how students can learn what AI does and does not do, evaluate outputs rather than accept them uncritically, use tools transparently, and make responsible choices. The goal is not technical mastery in every course, but informed judgment in every discipline.

Designing Human-Centered Learning That Matters | Wednesday December 02, 2026 | 2:00 - 3:00 PM | Roundtable, In-Person
FOCUS: Strengthening connection, belonging, curiosity, collaboration, and purpose as AI becomes more capable. This CRTLE event makes room for an essential question: what should remain distinctly human in higher education? Participants will explore how instructor presence, peer learning, mentorship, experience, and reflection can give learning meaning that efficiency alone cannot provide. The dialogue will help faculty protect human connection while making thoughtful use of new tools.
