Annual Glass Sale

The Department of Art + Art History’s Annual Glass Art Sale was initiated on the loading dock behind the art building in the mid 1990’s by founder David Keens, in order to raise money to buy raw materials, equipment, tools, and develop scholarships. Over the past decades, the annual event has grown into a world-class showcase of glass created by UTA students, faculty, and visiting artists. Thanks to the extraordinary support of the glass sale by members of the civic and university communities, the facility and program has expanded into one of the premier academic glass art programs in the country.

Dialogues In Art

Dialogues in Art is a series of themed symposia initiated by the department chair Dr. August Davis. Twice a semester, UTA Art & Art History faculty members meet with colleagues and leading experts from other academic and museum institutions to explore innovations in art and design.

Visiting Artists

Over the years, the Visiting Artist Program has featured a diverse lineup of influential artists, designers, scholars and curators who define the contemporary art and culture discourse. The program provides students direct access to leading experts in their fields and is a vital resource in the department’s curriculum. In addition to public lectures, visiting artists engage with students through studio critiques and conduct workshops in collaboration with the UTA faculty. The program is funded by the Art & Art History Department.
