When UTA hosts international academic conferences, faculty have the opportunity to increase their visibility, make new connections, and provide their students with valuable hands-on experiences.

In March, the College of Nursing and Health Innovation’s Center for Rural Health and Nursing hosted the 2025 International Rural Nurse Organization Conference, allowing the University to showcase its commitment to addressing the unique health care challenges faced by rural communities.

In May, the Glass Art Society International Conference 2025 brought more than 1,000 glass artists, professionals, businesses, and institutions from 20-plus countries to campus. Attendees explored new techniques and ideas while providing a critical avenue for professional development.

Most recently, scientists and engineers gathered on campus for Vortex 2025 with a central goal: to work toward a consensus on the mathematical definition of a vortex. The international event, organized by the Department of Mathematics, was co-sponsored by the National Science Foundation and chaired by Chaoqun Liuter, director of UTA’s Center for Numerical Simulation and Modeling.
