New students can follow these five steps to enroll in classes for their first semester at UTA.

In response to the continued developments of COVID-19 and to support the health and wellbeing of our university community, all in-person Orientation programs scheduled for summer will be moved to an online delivery format. You should meet with an academic advisor prior to your orientation session. For questions, please email or check out our FAQ page.

UTA COVID-19 updates

Step 1

Register for orientation and complete the pre-orientation modules:

• Once students are admitted to UTA, they receive an invitation to register for orientation.

• Students should then register for orientation, which includes completing a brief questionnaire, selecting their orientation date, and providing some details about parents and family member.

• Once students submit their reservation, the pre-orientation modules will be available.

• When students complete their orientation modules, they are instructed to schedule an advising appointment and enroll in classes. These instructions will soon include a link to the page that directs them to advising information on our website.

Schedule an appointment and meet with your academic advisor:

Resolve other registration holds. Check your MyMav for any potential holds on your account before your advising appointment.

Once you have completed steps one through three you are ready to enroll in courses. Watch this short video for step-by-step instructions on how to enroll.

Step 5

Participate in a virtual orientation session

On the date you selected to complete orientation, you will participate in online presentations that mirror the sessions you would have enjoyed during an on-campus orientation. These sessions will be mostly live, so you will have opportunities to ask questions and connect with others. Our goal is to make our virtual orientation as close to the real thing as possible.
The Orientation Leaders are current students who serve as your guides through the process. They are excited to welcome you to UTA and help bring new students together. Plus, they will be available after orientation to answer any questions and help build connections to the UTA community.

Your virtual orientation session is required, so ensure that you are available for the duration of the program. More details about virtual orientation, including a schedule of the session, will be emailed to you a few days prior to your session.
