Engineering and Academic Success Center Partnership Paper

 

An award-winning Best Zone III Paper previously presented in March 2019 at the ASEE Conference for the Gulf-Southwest (GSW) section, was selected for the July 26-29, 2021 National ASEE Conference for the Distinguished Lecture Series. The paper was co-written with Dr. David Ewing from Engineering, with co-authors Catherine Unite; Christina Miller; and Cedric Shelby from the Academic Success Center entitled, “Supplemental Instruction and Just-in-Time Tutoring: The Who, When, and Why Students Attend in a First Year Engineering Course.”

In addition, a second paper was recently presented at the March 2021 ASEE GSW Conference hosted by Baylor University, which won first place as a faculty paper entitled, “Evaluation of a Peer-Led Team Learning Course Designed to Increase Underprepared Students Success in Engineering” once again co-written with Dr. David Ewing in partnership with Dr. Kimshi Hickman; Catherine Unite; and Monica Franco from the Academic Success Center within the Division for Student Success.
