Food Pantry During [covid-19] Outbreak

Sunday, Mar 15, 2020

Dear Food Pantry Friends,

During this time of change and uncertainty in our community, the Tri-C/UTA Food Pantry wants to continue to provide food for those who are experiencing food insecurity. We want to do this in a way that is safe for the volunteers who are handing out the food and for the people who are receiving it.

Our plan for distribution this week is to make appointment times available for people to come by the Tri-C and receive food. We will hand them pre-bagged food at the door. We will advertise the following email address: utafoodpantry@gmail.com

And we will advertise the times: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10-11:45 a.m. and 2-4:45 p.m.

We need volunteers to help us sort the food and get it bagged. The volunteer times are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 10-noon and 2-4. We will limit the number of volunteers to 8 or less at each session.

If you would like to volunteer to help prepare the food bags, please reply to this email and let me know which time slot you prefer. I will let you know if there is still room available during that time.

Please do not volunteer if you are feeling sick or have cold or flu-like symptoms or if you are in an "at-risk" category.

We continue to accept food donations. We believe that the current situation in our community will increase the number of people who are experiencing food insecurity and that we will need more food available for distribution that usual.

These are the food items that we need the most:
Dry Pasta
Pasta Sauce
Rice
Beans (canned or dry)

I may send out an email more often over the next several weeks so that you will know our most urgent needs

Please make arrangements with me if you have food to deliver.

Thanks and Blessings,
