Position: AutoCAD Detailer Trainee

Detailed description of position

Purpose

Detail simple projects with supervision and provide concise, accurate and complete descriptions of all reinforcing steel, bar supports, mesh wire and related products for fabrication, delivery, installation and invoicing in the most efficient manner possible. Cultivate a customer service relationship while maximizing profits for Harris Rebar.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate conduct consistent with Harris Rebar’s vision and values.
  • Develop working knowledge of AutoCAD and the basics of Harris Rebar’s detailing system (RebarCAD).
  • Develop basic knowledge of reinforcing bar industry including reference material (i.e. CRSI and ACI).
  • Review and verify date of contract documents (plans, addenda and specs) received and compare against the date on proposal/estimate.
  • Detail simple projects with little or no assistance (i.e. simple foundations, walls, footings, piers, slabs, stairs, retaining walls and other products as required).
  • Submit placing drawings for approval and make sure they conform to ACI 318, CRSI, or RSIC, the Branch quality assurance and the placer/shop requirements.
  • Process change orders to maximize all possible returns for the Branch.
  • Maintain all deliveries for fabrication.
  • Communicate with customer, placer and Architect/Engineer on all questions relating to project; submit Requests for Information (RFI) as required.
  • Work with Detailing Manager to ensure that all specialty items are pre-ordered to maintain construction schedules.
  • Under the direction of management, be involved in all construction conflicts/disputes (whether contractor, placer, detailer or shop), and help with a resolution that is a time and cost effective solution.
  • Participate in weekly meetings to discuss safety, innovative ideas, workloads, availability, issues and problems of the week for all to learn and share.
  • Compare the progression of project detailed weight against contract weight.
  • Identify and develop information required to inform customer of any changes (time and/or material) to the contract, including the completion of the change order form.
  • Review all claims of shortages or errors.
  • Ensure proper coding of all barlists.
  • Follow one or more projects from estimate though detailing and fabrication to installation at the job site.
  • Perform other duties as required by your supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting issued from an accredited school or college or currently enrolled
  • At least six months experience with AutoCAD and Windows based software
  • Ability to read architectural/engineering blueprints
  • Ability to work as a team member on projects with an aptitude for problem solving

AutoCAD Detailer I

Purpose:

Detail commercial and civil projects as it pertains to the supply and installation of rebar.

Basic Functions

  • Must adhere to Harris Rebar’s safety programs and standards.
  • Demonstrate conduct consistent with Harris Rebar’s vision and values.
  • Continue developing knowledge of industry reference material (i.e. CRSI and ACI manuals).
  • Verify drawings, dates, specifications, addenda and other contractual information from the routing sheet or directly from the business system.
  • Working with supervision, begin detailing more complex projects (i.e. jobs with columns, beams, one and two way slabs, and grade beams).
  • Bring any change(s) made to the contract documents to the attention of your supervisor (i.e. change made of the approval drawings, changes made by the field or yourself).
  • Detail accessories, mesh, couplers and dowel bars and prepare material lists as required.
  • Work with job site personnel to determine project requirements for detailing and delivery of material.
  • Work with A/E regarding problems or questions on contract documents.
  • Produce the material list for all products from RebarCAD and produce replacement orders as required.
  • Enter all drawings for submission into drawing tracking system.
  • Perform other duties as required by your supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
  • Vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting issued from an accredited school or college, or equivalent combination of training and work experience

Position: Commission to Design four lofts into historic building in Hillsboro TX

Detailed description of position

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced draftsman/architect to revise plans on four apartments and a single family home remodel. As the successful candidate, you should have a strong background in architectural design, drafting, floor plan design, residential design, 3D design, and 2D design. Proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD and CAD is also a must.

We need you to be available to revise quickly and turn around iterations right away. We are not looking for a part time architect who is fitting us in between a full time job.

Your main responsibility will be to revise the existing plans for the four apartments and home. As we get floor plan design decided, we will move into MEP and detail drawings. We will need a couple of 3-D interior renderings to confirm our design works well.

Position: Independent Contractor

Detailed description of position

I'm looking for someone that loves the English Country Cottage style for both residential architecture and residential landscaping. I need someone who can produce architectural drawings for the interior and exterior of the home I'm renovating in Flower Mound, Texas that sits on a 1.18 acre lot. The ideal candidate will also be able to produce landscape drawings for the renovation. There are 2 primary parts of the exterior plan and 2 primary parts of the interior plan for the home.

Outline

  1. Build a 19.5' x 22' poolhouse on the north end of the pool in the backyard. There's an existing 210' of railroad tie retaining wall. The plan is to redo the current wall w/ Oklahoma Moss Rock (and give it an English Country Cottage look);
    a). Use part of the retaining wall would be about 18" higher than grade to serve as a barrier/ seating/planter and transformed the north end of the property into a beautiful entryway for the backyard,
    b). Use two of the walls where there's a 90 degree angle for the retaining wall into the lower level of the poolhouse,
    c). The lower level of the poolhouse will be a storm cellar/lawn equip. storage, and
    d). The main level of the poolhouse will be pool deck grade and have an outdoor fireplace and kitchen with an outdoor shower and an area for the exterior stairway on the east end of the poolhouse leading up to the second level that's for an office or nanny's quarters.

  2. Modify the front entryway roof with a 24" extension that incorporates an eyebrow arch and brackets on both sides.

  3. Make critical changes to the great room;
    a). Build floor to ceiling bookshelves on the north wall of the great room,
    b). Modify the fireplace on the west wall of the great room to capture an English Country Cottage style,
    c). Make some changes to the main stairway at the main entryway to extend the landing and include a window seat.
