Architectural Intern / Architectural Designer (Recent Graduate)

Detailed description of position:

Location: Fort Worth

Type: Full-Time or part-time

A small, boutique architecture firm in Fort Worth is seeking an Architectural Intern or recent graduate to join our team. This position offers extensive hands-on experience across all phases of a project—from concept design through construction administration—within a highly collaborative, small-firm environment.

You will work directly with and be mentored by the firm owner, an architect with over 30 years of professional experience, gaining meaningful responsibility and exposure early in your career.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting with design development and construction documents
  • Supporting client meetings and consultant coordination
  • Participating in site visits and construction administration
  • Researching materials, codes, and building systems

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture (recent graduate or current intern)
  • Proficiency in Revit + AutoCAD
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Interest in professional licensure preferred

Production Intern

Detailed description of position:

Job Title: Production Intern

Time Requirements: 40 hours per week, extending as necessary to fulfill project requirements

Position Summary:

Support the design and documentation processes. Work on multiple projects under the direct supervision of a Project Manager and the Firm Principal, from whom he/she will receive project directions and feedback.

Responsibilities:

  • Model and drawing production
  • Product and code research
  • Field analysis of building sites
  • Support of construction phase services

Qualifications:

  • Professional degree in Architecture
  • 2-5 years of experience in an architectural office
  • A desire to become a Registered Architect
  • Skilled in producing documents with Autodesk Revit
  • A well-spoken communicator, with a professional appearance
  • Strong work ethic

Development Services Director

Detailed description of position:

Under the direction of the City Manager, the Director of Development Services oversees all aspects of planning, zoning, permitting, inspections, and code enforcement for the City of Crandall. The position serves as the City’s lead professional on land use, development, and growth management, providing guidance to the City Manager, City Council, Planning & Zoning Commission, and other boards. The Director manages pre-development processes with developers, ensures fair and consistent application of ordinances and development regulations, and oversees special districts such as Tax Increment Reinvestment Zones (TIRZ) and Public Improvement Districts (PIDs). This position plays a key role in shaping the City’s future growth, ensuring high-quality development, and maintaining strong relationships with citizens, developers, consultants, and regional partners.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible municipal planning/development experience, with at least five (3) years in a supervisory or management role.
  • Experience managing development review processes, planning and zoning functions, and development-related financing tools (TIRZ/PIDs) required.
  • AICP (American Institute of Certified Planners) or related certification preferred.
