Get Started
To work with us on a print campaign, it is highly encouraged that a discovery meeting be scheduled to discuss the following:
- Identify the purpose and call to action of the print piece
- Identify the target audience and quantity
- Determine which type of print job is most appropriate and to obtain design templates/specs (only Slate Print templates may be used)
- Discuss cost
- Desired in-hand date
When ready, designers should package and compress the final design file for the project and include it in the project request form/uploader.

Print Best Practices
To ensure the highest print quality, all design files must follow UTA brand standards, including approved logos, colors, typography, and accessibility requirements, confirming that all UTA design standards have been met prior to submission. Files should be print-ready and include proper resolution, bleed, margins, and color settings. Imagery should be high-resolution (minimum 300 DPI), properly licensed, and sized appropriately to avoid distortion or pixelation in print. All visual elements should be optimized for CMYK output to ensure accurate color reproduction.
Key best practices include:
- Ensure that artwork is compliant with the Slate Print designs specs that are provided.
- Use high-resolution images (300 DPI minimum at final print size)
- Ensure all images are properly licensed and compliant with institutional use
- Avoid stretching or compressing images, which can distort quality
- Convert all artwork and images to CMYK color mode for print accuracy
- Maintain consistent alignment with UTA brand photography and visual standards
- Include appropriate bleed (typically 0.125”) and safe margins to prevent cutoff content
- Embed or outline fonts to ensure typography renders correctly in print
- Thoroughly proof all content for accuracy, spacing, and alignment before submission
