Black History Month

Black History Month is a month of celebrating the contributions of African American people to the growth, health, and vitality of the United States. Originally recognized nationally in 1976, it has evolved over the years to include not only learning about contributions of past historic figures, but also reflecting on the unfinished work those pioneers and how African Americans can continue their progress as a group with rich cultural heritage.
