CRCJ 4390 Application Process

The application process must be completed in the semester prior to the semester in which the student will participate in the CRCJ 4390 Internship course. The following steps are required for acceptance into the CRCJ Internship:

  1. Contact your advisor.
  2. Determine what kind of host agencies best meet career expectations and desires. If you have a field of work in mind, or are stuck deciding between host agencies, you may speak to either:
  3. Contact your preferred host agency to determine what will be required to apply for the internship. Visit “Searching for Internships”.
    • Complete and comply with the host agency’s internship hiring process, including any necessary background checks for temporary security clearances.
  4. Complete and submit the CRCJ 4390 Internship Course Application (see the “Eligibility” page), and be prepared to submit your agency’s offer letter, internship agreement, or similar documentation to the Internship Director.
  5. Once the Internship Director receives the CRCJ 4390 Internship Application and all required documentation (MAPP report, UTA liability waiver, & Offer Letter), the student may proceed to the next step in the enrollment process. If the student does meet all the requirements, the student’s advisor will be notified to clear the student for self-enrollment in the CRCJ 4390 Internship course.
  6. Once the student receives confirmation from their advisor that they have been cleared, they will self-enroll in CRCJ 4390 Internship course for the desired semester.
  7. Student interns are responsible for completing all internship hours by the last day of the academic calendar for the semester they are enrolled. Student interns are also required to complete all 4390 Internship Canvas course materials.
