Preparing for Your Internship

After students have met the university requirements, they are ready to apply to various agencies for an internship. Most agencies require a resume and cover letter to accompany the application.

The following resources may assist students in preparing application materials.

Prospective interns will be approved based on the requirements listed in the "Eligibility” page.

Agencies will select students based on their own requirements. It is the responsibility of the student to contact an agency or organization that is involved with the criminal justice system, complete their required application and interview process, and be accepted as an intern by that agency or organization.

Internship participation is under joint supervision of both the internship director and the intern’s host agency. Students will also be responsible for CRCJ 4390 Internship course assignments located in Canvas once enrolled.
