Giving

YOUR GIFT MAKES A DIFFERENCE

Our donors are builders. They relish the prospect of making a direct, transformational impact through their gifts. And those gifts — along with the professorships, endowed chairs, and academic initiatives they've created — are already starting to reap benefits. The support that the College of Science receives from alumni and friends helps us transform lives and find solutions to today’s most pressing problems.

Giving Options

Please consider supporting the UTA College of Science today! Your gift could fund a professorship, provide valuable equipment for research and teaching, or help a student fulfill his or her academic dreams by becoming a Maverick Scientist. Our community partnerships enable experiential learning through co-ops and internships; employer and alumni recruiting; sponsored scholarships; on-site field trips; K-12/STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) activities; and industry advisory board membership. There are a variety of areas to direct your gift, including:

Dean's Excellence Fund for Students

This very important fund allows the Dean of Science to cover a variety of expenses, such as special projects, student scholarships, and travel grants for students presenting papers at professional meetings. The Dean’s Excellence Fund is a great way to provide general support to the College of Science.

Scholarships

These can be either annual gifts or gifts made through an endowed fund. The minimum gift required to create an endowed scholarship is $25,000. Donors select an area of focus--such as a particular academic discipline, level of scholastic achievement, or leadership criteria--and partner with the University to ensure their gift remains an enduring expression of their interest and passion. A complete list of College of Science scholarships available to students each year can be found at Mav ScholarShop.

Tribute gifts can be designated to specific funds or programs in accordance with the interest and intent of the family or donor. When you make a tribute gift, the honoree or family will be notified of your thoughtfulness, but not the amount of your gift.
