Program Overview
The UT Arlington School of Social Work offers a Master of Social Work Degree with a Concentration in Direct Practice in Mental Health and Substance Misuse. This cohort program is designed to meet the needs of working professionals and is offered through our UT Arlington Fort Worth location.
Admission to the Fort Worth Cohort to start matriculation in the fall semester is limited to students that do not have a degree in social work or do not qualify for advanced standing.
Students with a degree in social work that do qualify for advanced standing can apply to the Fort Worth Cohort program to start matriculation in the summer semesters (when advanced coursework begins).
Program Highlights
- Foundation Coursework – 24 months (Fall Start and Traditional/Non-BSW students only).
- Advanced Coursework – 14 months (Summer Start only for BSW grads).
- Take face-to-face classes at UTA Forth Worth and 3 to 4 online classes.
- 5-week, 8-week, 11-week, and 16-week long classes on Wednesday & Thursday evenings.
- Fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Students receive Administrative Certificate.
- Part of the nationally-ranked UTA School of Social Work.
- Limited time commitment; just 2 class meetings per week!
