Nicolette Hass

Dr. Nicolette Hass specializes in industrial and organizational psychology – the scientific study of human behavior in organizations and the workplace. Hass is co-founder and manager of the I/O Center at UTA, a hub for connecting the business community with Maverick scientists. She leverages her years of experience in consulting research for a large multinational aeronautics organization to promote an applied perspective of the field of psychology; uses psychological principles to develop innovative solutions to real-world problems; and adds to the department’s knowledge base to include a practitioner orientation.

“The field of industrial-organizational (I-O) psychology is so relevant to people’s everyday lives. Efforts made by both academia and business contribute to fostering a positive organizational environment. A key aspect of my role is promoting the connection between scientist and practitioner for each to inform the other. To support that endeavor, my goal is to ensure the students in our graduate program learn the science of I-O so they can translate research into usable workplace applications. Preparing students for success, guiding their learning, growing their talents, then observing their professional transformation is both rewarding and energizing. Beyond that, watching them flourish in their careers as they go on to do great things is an immeasurable source of personal pride.”
