POLICE OFFICER / POLICE CADET CANDIDATE

Qualified applicants will be required to pass a variety of entrance examinations, including a written exam and physical fitness test. Applicants will then complete an in-depth personal history statement, undergo a comprehensive background investigation, interviews, and related examinations. The application process for this position takes approximately 2-4 months.

  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must have high school diploma or GED
  • Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license
  • Must be a citizen of United States
  • If applicable, must have registered for selective service
  • If applicable, shall have an honorable discharge from the United States armed forces
  • Must be willing to work on any of three shifts, any day of the week, including holidays

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate Degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university.

PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER CANDIDATE

Qualified applicants will complete an in-depth personal history statement, undergo a comprehensive background investigation, interviews, and related examinations. The application process for this position takes approximately 2-4 months.

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license
  • Must be willing to work on any of three shifts, any day of the week, including holidays

TELECOMMUNICATIONS OPERATOR

Qualified applicants will complete an in-depth personal history statement, undergo a comprehensive background investigation, interviews, and Criticall call-taking testing.  For more information on critical call testing, go to the following website; www.criticall911.com .  The application process for this position takes approximately 2-4 months.
