Program Overview

The Master of Architecture is a NAAB-accredited professional degree offering two distinct pathways based on academic background.
- 3-year Regular track (96 credit hours) is designed for students without prior architecture training and provides a comprehensive foundation over approximately three and a half years.
- 2-year Advanced Placement track (57 credit hours) is an accelerated route for students who hold a Bachelor of Science in Architecture or the equivalent, requiring two years of advanced studies and leading to a professional degree in architecture.
Coursework integrates design theory and practice with a focus on the contemporary urban environment. Students explore areas such as sustainability, urbanism, history and theory, building performance, and digital fabrication through studio-based learning and research.
Studying in a growing metropolitan area with a strong network of architecture, engineering, and construction firms, UTA students benefit from internship and career opportunities, as well as global study experiences. The program is supported by nationally and internationally recognized faculty and access to cutting-edge research initiatives.
Graduates may pursue careers as architects, product and industrial designers, graphic designers, animators, and video game designers.

UTA’s Central Library FabLab boasts 8,000 square feet of makerspace featuring 3D printers, laser cutters, screen printers, kilns, sewing machines, and much more for learners from any discipline or experience level. The FabLab is taking the lead in ensuring students gain highly sought transdisciplinary skills.
