CAPPA hosts a number of important research centers that are addressing key issues in urbanism, sustainability, and more. These include the Center for Metropolitan Density, which focuses on sustainability by engaging the community in research, education, and consulting; the David Dillon Center for Texas Architecture, which is advancing the public dialogue about architecture and urbanism in North Texas; the Institute of Urban Studies, which provides a broad array of services to communities and municipalities in the region; and the Center for Transportation Equity, Decisions & Dollars, a partnership which provides resources to fulfill the demand for updated knowledge and improved decision-making for transportation systems.

In collaboration with the City of Arlington, CAPPA faculty and students work with City staff at the Arlington Urban Design Center at City Hall to provide innovative urban design solutions for business and neighborhood development projects in Arlington.

We also have several community outreach programs, such as La Bajada urban youth farm and the Summer@CAPPA program for high school students interested in studying architecture or interior design at the university level.
