The CARE Team supports students experiencing personal, behavioral, emotional, academic, or basic needs concerns that may affect their well-being or success.
Examples include:
- Significant changes in behavior or appearance
- Mental health concerns
- Hospitalization or serious illness
- Food or housing insecurity
- Family or personal crises
- Loss or grief
- Academic concerns related to personal circumstances
- Concerning behaviors that are not immediate emergencies
For additional guidance, please review the CARE Team’s Scope of Practice to learn more about the types of concerns we address and how we support students. If you are unsure whether a situation is appropriate, submit a referral or contact the CARE Team for consultation. It is always better to ask than to miss an opportunity to support a student.
Immediate threats to safety should always be reported to 911 or UTA Police before submitting a CARE referral.
