Summer Program

Program Overview

The camp is designed to equip students with essential life skills, support systems, and higher education resources. While getting a sense of what college could be like, this camp also provides students with information around resources and support after high school graduation.

C.O.R.E. (Connecting Opportunities and Resources through Education)

A FREE 3-day day camp tailored to students with lived experience in either foster care or homelessness through the McKinney-Vento program.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Age: Students must be high school-aged entering the 10th, 11th, or 12 grades as of Fall 2026. (Generally, ages 16-18 years old)

  • Foster Care Status: Applicants must be currently under the care or support of a recognized foster care agency within the state of Texas.

  • Academic Standing: Students must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.0 (or a grade point average deemed acceptable by program administrators).

  • Interest in Higher Education: Students should express an interest in pursuing post-secondary education in Texas.

  • Commitment to Participation: Applicants must be willing to commit to attending all three days of the camp.

Application Process and Transportation
