About Interfraternity Council

The Interfraternity Council (IFC) is the governing body of 8 of our social (inter)national fraternities represented at UTA, providing support and services to fraternities as well as representing fraternity life to the University and the surrounding community. Through various programs and activities by the council and member fraternities, we support a values-based fraternal experience for all students.

How to Join

The Interfraternity Council organizes a formal recruitment week within the first few weeks of the fall and spring semesters. Many of our members join through our formal recruitment process. However, chapters may also recruit members throughout the calendar year through a process known as "informal recruitment." If you are interested in participating in informal recruitment email us so we can assist with connecting you to our IFC fraternities.

Requirements to Join

Each fraternity has its own requirements set by their (inter)national organization and UTA chapter. We encourage you to contact the IFC chapter that you are interested in for information regarding specific chapter requirements.
