While getting a degree is the primary reason to attend UTA, fraternities and sororities offer opportunities for social interaction and development as well.

Community Programming

The Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life hosts several annual programs to bring together members of the fraternity and sorority community, celebrate Maverick pride, and serve our local community. These events include nights at UTA athletic events, Homecoming, community service at Mission Arlington, and the Great Pumpkin Carnival hosted in collaboration with Order of Omega.

F&SL Chapter Standards Program

The Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life has modified the Chapter Pillars of Excellence process to create the Chapter Standards Program. Within this program is the Standards of Excellence level. Chapters are encouraged to Honorable Standards level and the Standards of Excellence level as a best practice guide to aid in planning, goal setting and general chapter operations. Chapters that demonstrate excellence in meeting these standards will interview for our annual Top Chapter award.

SOCIAL AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES

Social and recreational activities give members the opportunity to meet a variety of people and to strengthen the bonds of friendship at the same time. Participation in other events, such as community-wide events, demonstrates fraternity and sorority unity and Maverick pride.
