Workshops in the EE Lab

The Department of Electrical Engineering at UTA offers several workshops free to all Electrical Engineering majors. These Self-paced workshops are designed to help you learn some

Come in during Open Lab Hours and request which workshop you would like to take. Bring your student ID in order to check out the parts for the workshop.

Arduino 1 - Blink / Pulse Width Modulation

Learn what an Arduino is and program it to blink an LED. We'll use the Oscilloscope to see what the voltage to the LED is. Learn how to dim an LED with PWM. Bring a Laptop if you can.

Arduino 2 - Digital and Analog Inputs

Learn how the Arduino uses Analog to Digital converters to sense the environment around it. Bring a Laptop if you can.

Arduino 3 - Motors and servos

In this workshop you get to hook up Motors and Servos.

Arduino 4 - Serial Communications

You will write a program on the computer and the Arduino will send data to it. Bring a laptop if you can.

Arduino 5 - Light Rider

Learn how to use a multiplexer to limit the number of wires you need to use. This makes a LED Animation.

Arduino 7 - SPI Bus

All about the SPI bus. Learn how to connect a digital potentiometer to the micro-controller.

Arduino 8 - LCD

You will hook up a LCD to the Arduino and program text to be displayed. You will also build a controllable thermostat with a digital temperature sensor, fan and speaker.

Arduino 9 - Bluetooth

You will hook up the HM-19 Bluetooth module to the Arduino and control its output with our cell phones using Bluetooth!

Breadboard Layout

Arduino 10 - Hardware and Timer Interrupts

Use code more efficiently using interrupts. Hardware de-bounce is included in this lesson.
