Maverick friends and families, you are cordially invited to attend Friends & Family Weekend. Join us for a weekend filled with family-centered programs and events during the most vibrant time of year.  Friends & Family Weekend is hosted every fall semester in the 3rd weekend of October.

Friday, October 20

5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Friends and Family Weekend Kick-Off: J Gilligan’s Bar & Grill 400 E Abram St, Arlington, TX 76010

Starting at 7:30 p.m.

  • Maverick Families Night Out: Create your own experience!
    • Explore Downtown Arlington
      • We have partnered with Downtown Arlington to provide you with special offers and discounts during Friends and Family Weekend!
    • City of Arlington Excursions
      • If you purchased a ticket for the AT&T Stadium VIP Tour, make sure you get your ticket at check-in. Tickets can be purchased here.
    • Planetarium Show | Chemistry and Physics Building
      • Atlas of a Changing Earth is a brand-new show at the UTA Planetarium! Learn about how a revolution in one of the most basic of all human enterprises – the making of maps – is shedding new light on our planet’s evolution in the wake of rising global temperatures.

  • Academic Showcase: Various locations on Campus
  • Resource Fair: University Center, Palo Duro Lounge 

1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

  • Lunch and Family Time

3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

  • Maverick Family Games Competition hosted by Campus Recreation: Maverick Activity Center (MAC)

5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

  • Pumpkin Painting hosted by the UTA Ambassadors: Brazos Park 

6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

  • Evening Entertainment and Dinner: Brazos Park

8:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. – Concurrent Events

  • Fright Night Haunted House hosted by EXCEL Campus Activities: University Center, Carlisle and Rio 
  • International Observe the Moon Night hosted by the UTA Planetarium: Park Central Garage at 500 S Center St
