First-Time In College (FTIC) Orientation Dates

Orientation is the first step on your exciting new journey.

Each orientation session has a limited registration capacity, so you are encouraged to sign-up as early as possible.

Freshman Orientation is required for all new first-time-in-college students at The University of Texas at Arlington. During orientation, you will learn about campus resources, meet other new Mavericks, and begin to navigate the campus.


Spring 2027 orientation sign-up is expected to open in late October. Watch your email for notification when sign-up becomes available and instructions on how to sign up.

  • Tuesday, December 1, 2026 — Virtual
  • Wednesday, January 6, 2027 — In person
  • Thursday, January 7, 2027 — In person

Refund Policy

The Orientation Fee is non-refundable once your registration is completed, including for students who do not attend Orientation and/or who ultimately choose not to enroll at UTA.
