Program Overview
Learn what to expect and what the program offers.
UTA’s Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering degree program strives to provide students with opportunities to interface with the profession through avenues such as cooperative education programs, professional society activities, plant trips, special projects, and industry speakers. Design experiences are included throughout the first three years of the curriculum and culminate in a major team-oriented project in the senior year that approximates an industrial work experience.
For more information about the program, including admission requirements, academic requirements, course lists, educational program objectives, and student outcomes, visit the Computer Engineering catalog page.
The College of Engineering advisors and faculty work with students on their four-year course sequence to ensure progress toward degree completion.
Degree plans for all Engineering programs are available here.
Certificates are offered in key areas desired by industry, and many of the courses can be completed online to accommodate students’ busy schedules. Undergraduate certificate programs are offered in conjunction with bachelor’s degree programs, while graduate certificates can be completed while enrolled in a master’s degree program or separately as a non-degree-seeking student.

We encourage students to apply to UTA and submit their FAFSA/TAFSA to determine eligibility for scholarships and financial aid. Complete the FAFSA online at StudentAid.gov. UTA school code: 003656. For more information, visit the UTA Scholarships page.
Other Ways to Fund Your College Education
Undergraduate students are eligible for federal loans and can borrow up to $12,500 each year in Direct Unsubsidized Loans, which may be partially subsidized. Direct PLUS Loans, which are available to parents of undergraduate students, also can be used for the remainder of costs not covered by other financial aid. Students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA to see if they qualify for federal loans. Banks and credit unions offer private student loans. Students may apply directly with the lender.
