With a rotating schedule each semester, CAPS offers many events and outreach programs to meet your emotional health goals. Find out how to join below.

Please Note: 

There will be in-person as well as virtual events. Events do not require registration unless otherwise noted. Virtual events will be held online via Zoom or TEAMS. On the day/time of your virtual event, click on the event and login with UTA credentials to access the meeting link. If you need assistance, call CAPS at 817-272-3671. If you need accommodations to participate in an event, please contact CAPS at least five days prior to the event.

Fresh Check Day

Join us for a mental health check-in with interactive booths focused on emotional and mental health awareness, free food, prizes and more! Fresh Check Day is the signature program of the Jordan Porco Foundation.

Campus Connect Suicide Prevention Training

(2-hour Training)

Campus Connect Suicide Awareness Training equips students, staff, and faculty with the knowledge and skills to recognize warning signs of suicide, respond effectively to distress, and connect individuals to appropriate support resources. The training emphasizes early identification, empathetic communication, and practical intervention strategies that can be used in everyday campus interactions. Must have 5 participants to request a training and training only offered in person.

Mindful Moments Under the Stars: Drop-in Meditation and Mindfulness

Drop-in mindfulness training workshop held weekly during the Spring and Fall semesters in the UTA planetarium. Please check Mavengage and/or UTA Event Calendar to confirm time and no registration required.

RENEW, RELAX, REVIVE: MEDITATION & MINDFULNESS

Request a UTA CAPS provider to visit your event and demonstrated different types of meditations such as compassion-focused, mindfulness, and guided imagery.

MAVS TALK MINDFULNESS

Examine mindfulness as a framework for enhancing awareness of present-moment experiences, including thoughts, emotions, and bodily sensations, and discuss its relevance to psychological well-being.

Wellness and Insight

Find support, gain insight, and develop new ways to navigate life's stressors.

MAVS TALK SELF-COMPASSION

Learn aspects of self-compassion and how to be more accepting of yourself.
