STUDENTS

Dual credit courses are $50.00 per credit hour. There is an additional fee of $37.50 for online coursework. There may also be book, supply and parking fees. Some partner programs will assist with these costs. Please see your high school counselor for more information.

Speak with your high school counselor or homeschool coordinator before making your final decision. Once the decision has been made to drop a class, complete an electronic drop form found in your MyMav account. To locate the form, click on the “My Forms” tile, then the black “Fill out a new form” button.     

If you do not see the e-form after clicking on the “fill out a new form” button, please email the Dual Credit Coordinator for assistance.

Go to Canvas to log in and access the Canvas student training course. 
If a dual credit student fails a college credit course they are attempting at UTA, they will no longer be eligible to participate in the Dual Credit Academy. However, they can apply to attend as a regular degree-seeking student at UTA in the future after finishing high school.

Student goals, maturity level, academic ability and level of responsibility should all be considered. It is important to consider current performance in high school classes, along with current course load and extracurricular activities.

Yes, if the student plans to park on campus, a permit is needed. More information regarding parking permits on the Parking and Transportation.

It is recommended that you reach out to the Dual Credit Coordinator with any concerns you may have. Please be aware that the Federal Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) will be followed.

For more information regarding FERPA, please review the Records and Registration FERPA. If your student would like to have a FERPA information release on file, they may complete the form through the Office of the Registrar by clicking on the FERPA and Parents drop down.

FACULTY

High school students have the benefit of earning college credit while also earning their high school diploma. This allows them to become familiar with the college culture and expectations, which should prepare them to become successful once they begin attending college full time.

The Dual Credit Coordinator will send out a final grade report request at the end of each semester. You will need to include the numeric and letter grade on this report. The numeric grades are used on the high school transcripts. It is important to return these reports by the provided deadline.

Yes, but only if a FERPA waiver is on file for the student. More information regarding FERPA can be found on the Office of Records and Registration. It is noted on the MyMav Student Center, under the holds area, if a there is a privacy release on file.
