SURGE Program Activities

SURGE program students are required to participate in the following activities:

• Bi-weekly MAA UT Arlington Student Chapter lunch meetings
• Monthly mentor-mentee lunch meetings
• Monthly SURGE project group lunch meetings
• Career workshop series offered by the University Career Services

The SURGE program also encourages interested students to participate in the following optional activities depending on each student's interest and available time:

• Work at the Math Clinic and/or take internships at companies in the DFW area
• Attend professional conferences to enhance interactions with students and faculty from other institutions
• Participate in undergraduate research
• Perform community services

These optional activities are designed to enrich SURGE students' learning experience at UT Arlington and to better prepare them to enter the workforce or graduate schools.
