In his new book, The Geographies of African American Short Fiction, 1925 - 2018, issued by the University Press of Mississippi, Dr. Kenton Rambsy presents African American short story writers as cultural cartographers. Using quantitative information and an extensive literary dataset, Dr. Rambsy documents the variety of geographical references within those short stories to show how these authors make cultural spaces integral to their artwork and inscribe their stories with layered and resonant social histories.
