UTA enrollment rises to record 38,650 Texas-based students

Enrollment at UTA reached a record 38,650 Texas-based students for the spring 2016 semester, a figure that is up 6 percent from a year ago. At a time when most universities see declines in enrollment from fall to spring, UTA’s numbers rose 4.4 percent from fall of 2015 when enrollment was 37,008.

Sun earns NSF CAREER grant to develop laser to better detect diseases

Yuze “Alice” Sun, assistant professor of electrical engineering, has been awarded a National Science Foundation five-year, $500,000 Faculty Early Career Development, or CAREER, grant to create technology that will lead to a versatile biosensing platform featuring exceptional detection sensitivity, selectivity, and throughput.
