JAZZ STUDIES

UTA Summer Jazz Combo Workshop

Come be a part of the UTA Jazz Combo Camp!  July 12-16, 2026.  

Note* This unique camp will be held in the afternoon/evening to better fit the parent’s busy schedules.

Students will learn from world class jazz professionals that have toured and performed across the globe.  

Topics will include:
- jazz improvisation
- jazz theory
- performing in a combo setting
- instrument master classes
- TMEA and ATSSB All-State Etudes “Head Start” session

Cost for the camp is $525 per student (Early Bird Discount: $25 OFF until July 1st).

Group Discount: 15% off for schools that have multiple students that want to attend the camp (to receive the discount, group MUST be a minimum of 4 students)

Tentative Jazz Camp Schedule 
               July 12
3:00pm – Student Registration/Check In
4:00pm –Student Auditions/Combo Placements
5:00pm – Student Combo Rehearsal
6:00pm – Faculty Concert
7:30pm – Jam Sessions
9:00pm – End of the day.

 July 13-15
6:00pm – Brief meeting with all students to review the plan for the day and take attendance.
6:15pm – Student Combo Rehearsal
7:15pm – Instrument Masterclasses/ All Region Etudes
8:15pm – Jam Sessions
9:00pm – End of the day.
 
July 16
6:00pm – Brief meeting with all students to review the plan for the day and take attendance.
6:15pm – Final Student Combo Rehearsal
7:30pm – Final Concert
9:00pm – End of the day.

The camp will culminate with a student combo performance and reception.  Family and friends welcome!!
