Diane Wittry is the longtime Music Director of the Allentown Symphony Orchestra, a position she has held since 1995, leading the ensemble with a focus on artistic excellence, innovative programming, and community engagement. An internationally recognized conductor, she has guest conducted orchestras throughout the United States as well as in Europe, Asia, and South America. Wittry is a strong advocate for American music and has commissioned and premiered numerous new works, contributing significantly to the expansion of orchestral repertoire. In addition to her conducting career, she is a respected educator, frequently appearing as a clinician, guest conductor, and speaker at festivals and conferences. She is also the author of Beyond the Baton, a widely used resource on conducting technique and leadership. Through her work on and off the podium, Wittry continues to influence conductors, educators, and performers while promoting the vitality and accessibility of orchestral music.
