The UTA College of Business will showcase each business advisor as they share fun personal facts about themselves. Christy Abatan has been with the UTA College of Business for almost one year and is an Undergraduate Academic Advisor. She specializes in finance and marketing majors.

What do you love most about being a college advisor?
- Guiding and helping students understand how to navigate the academic policies and procedures
- Getting to know my students and building relationship
- Seeing my student grow from not knowing how to start their career journey, to discovering their major and walking the stage
What are your favorite hobbies outside of work?
Spending time with my family, traveling, DIY/Space makeovers, and shopping.

What was your favorite vacation?
Road trips with my spouse and kids. Very minimal tech distraction and I get to spend quality time with my family while discovering new things together.
What’s the weirdest food you’ve ever eaten?
Octopus. Recently went to a Korean restaurant with some friends and had to try it, not my kind of food.

Jollof rice and plantain.
What is the best advice you have heard?
Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.
