From October 2 through October 5, the University of Texas at Arlington’s College of Business hosted the annual Finance and Real Estate Employers and Organizations week. Events throughout the week gave students a chance to engage with employers regarding internships, part-time, and full-time employment opportunities.

Lockheed Martin, Fidelity Investments, American Airlines, GM Financial and other companies attended the four daylong event. Several employers hosted a luncheon for students to learn more about their company and engage in a one-on-one setting.

Jeremy Lenaerts, President of the Student Society of Real Estate, attended several activities throughout the week. “The employers who made the trip to campus were very eager to interact with students. It's probably the most efficient way for any student to get connected with the right employment opportunity. Initially, it was a little stressful but once I got talking, I didn't really feel stressed. I met plenty of quality employers which was one of my goals,” he said, when talking about his experience.

Fidelity Investments participated in one of the employer hosted luncheons. Valeria Shaw, recruiter for Fidelity Investments, spoke about how campus recruitment is a great way to tap into a new generation of talent. “Meeting with UTA students allows me the ability to quickly and efficiently build a network of young talent at a diverse and highly regarded institution. UTA students are knowledgeable, motivated and have an interest in learning more about the roles offered at Fidelity Investments.”
