EOS Complaint Process

 

Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 is a federal law that prohibits sex discrimination in education. Unlawful sex discrimination includes sexual harassment, gender-based harassment, sexual violence, sexual assault, sexual exploitation, stalking, domestic violence, dating violence, and other sexual misconduct. This past legislative session, the State of Texas passed SB 212 and HB 1735, which contain state provisions impacting Title IX and sexual misconduct related institutional processes starting the 2019-2020 academic year. These laws are considered the most comprehensive and significant laws regarding institutional obligations relating to sexual misconduct.
