The University of Texas at Arlington's College of Education's national reputation for excellence has once again been affirmed by Intelligent.com’s No. 5 national ranking of UTA's online master's in education degree, Targeted News Service reported.

Gas leak research

Eos profiled the research of Kathleen Smits, a UTA civil and environmental engineering associate professor. Her work is improving the way gas leaks are found and how they are fixed. It’s funded through a $414,000 grant from the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration. Eos is a leading magazine about news surrounding the Earth, space and the environment.

Taekwondo champion

Adalis “AJ” Munoz has won her third consecutive title at the World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships in Taipei and also was named the Freestyle Poomsae Female MVP for the second time in four years, TeamUSA.org reported. Munoz is a UTA junior pursuing bachelor’s degrees in exercise science and psychology.

Alumnus appointed

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has reappointed Sajeeb Ahmed Wazed her information and communication technology affairs adviser, The Independent reported. Wazed received a UTA bachelor’s degree in computers science and engineering.
