Fighting disease
Todd Castoe, a UTA associate professor of biology, is using a National Institutes of Health grant to find ways to finish off a disease that has stubbornly resisted all attempts to eradicate it, Phys.org reported.
Art professor exhibit
Benjamin Terry, a UTA art professor of practice in painting, is exhibiting A Romantic Gesture at Dallas’ Galleri Urbane, Wall Street International magazine reported. The WSI article says the exhibit, on display through March 29, is a response to the long-distance relationship that Terry and his fiancé have endured over the last year.

Boarding houses
Rooming and boarding houses—typically at the cheapest end of the rental spectrum—are disappearing in Dallas, and housing officials fret that a tipping point is fast approaching in one of the country's busiest home-flipping markets, The Dallas Morning News reported. The story quoted a UTA report presented to the Dallas City Council in November that found roughly two in five households in Texas rent, accounting for more than 3.5 million homes.
