REHEAL glove
The revolutionary bioengineered healing glove created by researchers at The University of Texas at Arlington Research Institute and the University of Washington has completed another key step on the road toward commercialization, Medica Magazine, BioPortfolio, Bioengineer.org, Scienmag and Science and Technology Research News reported.

Yi “Leaf” Zhang and Maria Trache, UTA College of Education associate professor and professor, respectively, are starting a study that would give parents and students better information when planning for their academic futures, Education Daily Report reported.

UTA coach memories
UTA women’s basketball coach Krista Gerlich was featured on a WFAA ABC 8 story about the Texas Tech men’s basketball team reaching the Final Four in the NCAA Tournament. Gerlich was a member of the Texas Tech women’s team that won the national championship in 1993.
Architecture alumna
Margarita Aguirre, who earned her master’s degree in architecture from UTA in 2016, is working for HKS and is part of the team designing Globe Life Park, the soon-to-be new home of the Texas Rangers, Virginia’s HeraldCourier.com reported. The original story was published in The Dallas Morning News.

A team of UTA real estate graduate students from the College of Business placed second in the national Real Confidence University Challenge, Targeted News Service reported.
Making college more affordable
A UT System task force is exploring ways to make college more affordable, The Daily Texan reported. Rebecca Karoff, co-chair of the task force and UT System associate vice chancellor for academic affairs, pointed to UTA as an institution recognized nationally for its efforts to provide affordable educational materials.
