Smart Hospital
Jennifer Roye, assistant dean for simulation and technology in the College of Nursing and Health Innovation, spoke with D Magazine about UTA’s new Smart Hospital. The new facility is changing how UTA’s nursing and social work students are educated and trained.
Kelcy Warren Gift
UTA alumnus Kelcy Warren has made a $12 million gift to help elevate UTA in the growing field of resource and energy engineering, The Dallas Express reports. This gift is the largest single donation in UTA history.
Hypersonic Demonstrator
Bernd Chudoba, aerospace engineering professor, is leading a team of graduate aerospace engineering researchers to design a military hypersonic missile system that flies faster than any air-breathing vehicle in history, U.S. Fed News reports.
Reducing Risk of Brain Injuries
Ashfaq Adnan, professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, received a nearly $1 million grant from the Office of Naval Research Defense University Research Instrumentation Program, U.S. Fed News and Targeted News Service report. Adnan will use computer motion simulation to replicate the movements of a person performing activities that could lead to traumatic brain injury.
